Souad Massi takes the stage on October 9, 2026 at the Espace Marcel Carné in Saint-Michel-sur-Orge for a concert where her warm voice and her forthright writing take center stage. A major figure in contemporary Algerian song, she has for many years carved a personal path between chaâbi, folk, rock, flamenco and Arabic music, with this sense of fusion that never sounds like a collage. A multi-instrumentalist, she burst onto the scene in the 1990s with the group Atakor before pursuing an international career. Massi sings in Arabic, French and Berber. Her songs speak of exile, freedom, love, and social movements, with direct poetry and a discreet but constant tension. On stage, this repertoire becomes a moment of live music, at once intimate and infused with an energy that is as much about storytelling as it is about taking a stand.
