Pitchfork Music Festival Paris welcomes Iceage on 2 November 2026 at Essaim / Main Room in Paris. Formed in Copenhagen, the quartet has shaped since 2008 a tense, evolving sound that sits between jagged post-punk and dark melodies—from New Brigade to Seek Shelter—while also exploring gothic and art-punk forays. They return with For Love of Grace & the Hereafter, their sixth album, recorded in Sweden with a deliberately embraced sense of urgency. Produced by the band, the record tightens the songwriting and moves away from diffuse melancholy toward a clearer energy, where nervous punk meets stripped-down romanticism.

On stage, Iceage embodies this ambivalence: rhythmic urgency, rough guitars, Elias Bender Rønnenfelt’s voice at the center, followed by wider openings that let the songs breathe. The set alternates bursts and lulls, displaying strong group cohesion and a keen sense of tension. In Paris, they present this new chapter—positioned between maturity and instinct—without unnecessary embellishments, keeping passion as the guiding thread.
