Info
On 19 November 2026, Fat Dog bring their London-bred electro-punk to Whelan's in Dublin. Formed in 2020 around Joe Love before expanding into a five-piece on South London stages, the group made a name for itself through gigs first, then early support runs with Sports Team, Yard Act and Viagra Boys, and a signing to Domino in 2023. Their sound stitches post-punk grit to dance-punk repetition and upfront electronics: taut synths, rave-leaning rhythms and sharp detours, with sax lines that nod to klezmer without diluting the charge.
Since the breakthrough single King of the Slugs (2023), Fat Dog have followed with All the Same, Running and I Am the King in 2024, leading into their debut album WOOF the same year. Festival stops at End of the Road, Borderline in Dublin and SXSW have honed a live set that thrives on momentum. On stage, the band push raw rock energy and a hypnotic pulse side by side, with a streak of absurdity that keeps the edges loose. At Whelan’s, expect a tight, physical show where repetition hits hard and the electronics bite, built for a room that wants to move.
