Levellers

On 20 November 2026, Levellers bring their fiddle-led folk rock to The Prospect Building in Bristol. Formed in Brighton in 1988 and named after the seventeenth‑century egalitarian movement, the band blends amplified folk, punk urgency and Celtic inflections, with lyrics that dig into social questions, politics and alternative ways of living.

Over the years they’ve built a catalogue that maps their path: A Weapon Called the Word and Levelling the Land at the start, then Levellers, Zeitgeist and Mouth to Mouth in the 90s, followed by Hello Pig, Green Blade Rising, Truth & Lies and Letters from the Underground. More recently came Static on the Airwaves, the semi‑acoustic rework project We the Collective and Peace. On stage, that history becomes brisk rhythms, communal choruses and a violin cutting through electric guitars, shifting between full‑tilt folk‑punk and stripped arrangements without losing momentum.

A long-haul touring band with a DIY streak, they run their own label On the Fiddle and launched the Beautiful Days festival, a background that shapes a live show built on connection with the crowd. Support to be confirmed.
