Cowboy Junkies « Celebrating 40 Years and Beyond »

Info

Cowboy Junkies mark four decades on stage at The London Palladium, London, on 11 May 2026. Formed in mid-80s Toronto, the quartet — singer Margo Timmins, her brothers Michael and Peter, and bassist Alan Anton — has shaped a quiet, slow-burning sound where folk rock, alt-country, blues and Americana meet. The early albums Whites Off Earth Now!! and The Trinity Session, recorded in the Church of the Holy Trinity, set the template: unhurried tempos, sparse arrangements and a measured tension between electric and acoustic textures. For this anniversary set, the band draws across its catalogue, from The Caution Horses and Black Eyed Man to Lay It Down and Open, alongside recent chapters like All That Reckoning, Ghosts, Songs of the Recollection and Such Ferocious Beauty. Around Michael’s writing and Margo’s restrained delivery, originals and covers share the same warm grain, contemplative and nocturnal, held just above a whisper.
