Queensrÿche play Manchester Academy on 22 June 2026. Formed in the early 80s in Washington State, the band shaped a blend of melodic heavy metal and progressive ideas, from The Warning and Rage for Order to the concept album Operation: Mindcrime and the globally recognized Empire. Today, with Todd La Torre on vocals alongside long-standing members Michael Wilton and Eddie Jackson, Queensrÿche keep that balance of precision and melody, intégrating recent material like Digital Noise Alliance into a set that draws across their catalogue.
Special guests Rivers of Nihil bring a modern, atmospheric strain of death metal from Reading, Pennsylvania. Built around guitarist Brody Uttley and bassist-vocalist Adam Biggs, the group mixes technical riffing, progressive turns and spacious textures heard on The Conscious Seed of Light, Monarchy, Where Owls Know My Name and The Work. Their set lays a darker, detailed groundwork before Queensrÿche take over.
