On 25 July 2026, Cardiff Castle in Cardiff hosts The Wombats. Formed in Liverpool by Matthew Murphy, Dan Haggis and Tord Øverland Knudsen, the trio balances nervy indie rock, danceable basslines and synth touches that have shaped their sound from A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation to Fix Yourself, Not the World and Oh! The Ocean. On stage, their set moves between early bursts and newer tracks, with direct hooks and lyrics that orbit relationships, anxiety and the tug-of-war of everyday life.
Joining the bill, Sugababes bring the tight harmonies and R&B‑tinted pop of the original trio, bridging early favourites with recent material. From Merseyside as well, Red Rum Club inject trumpet-led flair into lean indie songs with a hint of western colour. Welsh singer-songwriter Ben Ellis adds clear, melodic pop. Afro Cluster, The Family Battenburg and Ian Davies round out the lineup for a day that stacks distinct voices across pop and indie.
