Stiff Little Fingers hit Epic Studios in Norwich on 10 July 2026. Formed in Belfast in 1977 amid the Troubles, the band shaped a direct, melodic strain of punk, with Jake Burns’ lyrics turning to everyday life, political tension and a restless youth. Early singles Suspect Device and Alternative Ulster set the tone, followed by the debut album Inflammable Material in 1979 and a run that took them through Nobody’s Heroes and Go for It before a regroup in the late 80s. Since then, SLF have continued across records like Guitar and Drum and No Going Back, keeping a sharp, lean sound. On stage today, Jake Burns, Ali McMordie, Ian McCallum and Steve Grantley play it tight and unfussy, shifting from bristling riffs to chant-friendly hooks with the ease of a band that knows its catalogue inside out. Expect a set that leans on the early anthems while bringing later cuts into focus, with support to set the tone.
