UB40 bring their reggae-pop blend to OVO Hydro in Glasgow on 11 June 2026. Formed in Birmingham at the end of the ’70s, the band shaped a sound rooted in Jamaican rhythms, dub accents and prominent horn lines, mixing original, socially minded tracks with reworked classics. From the early impact of Signing Off and Present Arms to the Labour of Love series that revived 60s and 70s reggae standards, UB40 built a catalogue where mid-tempo grooves and melodic hooks meet brass arrangements.

On stage, the group leans into that mix: skanking guitars, rolling basslines, crisp percussion and sax and trumpet parts that carry the choruses. The set typically weaves their own milestones with songs they’ve made their own — Red Red Wine, Kingston Town, or (I Can’t Help) Falling in Love With You — alongside dub versions and extended instrumental passages. Line-ups have shifted over the years; the foundation stays consistent: steady rhythms, singalong refrains and a take on reggae that moves easily from small rooms to big arenas.
