Info
Adekunle Gold brings his Afro Urban universe to Meridian Hall in Toronto on July 3, 2026, for a special live orchestra set. Born in Lagos and first noticed in 2014 with Sade, he carved his path between urban highlife, guitar-led ballads and a melodic approach anchored in Yoruba. After early releases that set his tone, he expanded toward a more electronic, club-ready afropop without losing the warmth of his songwriting, a journey traced across Gold, About 30, Afro Pop, Vol. 1, Catch Me If You Can and Tequila Ever After.
On stage with an orchestral ensemble, Adekunle Gold revisits this catalog through new textures: strings and horns underline his hooks, percussion and polyrhythms give breadth to grooves, and the guitar remains a steady thread. The set draws a line from his early intimate songs to recent tracks shaped by R&B and Caribbean influences, placing his voice and storytelling at the center. Expect crafted arrangements, a live band feel expanded by orchestral color, and a show paced to highlight both his roots and his current sound, all in the acoustics of Meridian Hall.
