Zeid Hamdan

A leading figure of the Arab world’s alternative music scene, Zeid Hamdan is a Lebanese producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist whose work has earned him the nickname “Pope of underground” in the Middle East.

He emerged in the 2000s with Soapkills, a duo formed with Yasmine Hamdan, blending electronic sonorities with Arabic melodies—a fusion that paved the way for a generation. Zeid’s career continues to move between cross-border collaborations and socially engaged projects, as evidenced by the Bedouin Burger project.

In 2025, he served as musical director for the Printemps de Bourges production dedicated to Oum Kalthoum, while finalizing a new EP to be released on MDLBEAST Records in the SWANA region. This release will be followed by a European tour, scheduled to kick off in spring 2026.
