Latéral Festival #2 returns to Saint-Étienne on Saturday, 13 June 2026 at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard. True to its line between electronic music and dub culture, the evening brings together four acts that span house, techno, breakbeat and industrial-tinged sounds.
Mall Grab, an Australian producer split between the UK and New South Wales, has fashioned a direct aesthetic since the lo‑fi house wave. At the helm of Steel City Dance Discs and Looking For Trouble, he delivers punchy rhythms, rave accents and borrowings from UK garage. His sets move unflinchingly from house to the fringes of jungle and trance, with a pronounced sense of bass and nocturnal atmosphere.
A central figure in Berlin techno, Marcel Dettmann has for years refined a pared-down, physical approach informed by Detroit, Chicago and darker European strains. A long-standing Berghain resident and founder of the MDR label, he builds tension through metallic textures and repetitive motifs, with incursions into ambient and EBM.
Spotlit via D.KO Records, Mad Rey blends house and deep house with hip‑hop and jazz influences. Between piano grooves, soul samples and long builds, tracks like Quartier Sex and Balabushka lay down a warm, effective foundation that he stretches in DJ sets between American-style house and breakbeat-leaning offshoots.
ROÜGE, a French producer and DJ, moves between EBM and hard-hitting techno, with releases on Exhale, RAW, Union Trance Mission and Detriti. Her no‑frills approach—designed for both the stage and the vinyl—grounds the lineup on a more industrial slant.
