Info

PUP, a Toronto punk quartet formed by Stefan Babcock, Nestor Chumak, Zack Mykula and Steve Sladkowski, arrives in Paris with a set designed for live performance. Since their self-titled debut in 2014, the band has refined a direct, nervy blend: cutting guitars, a hard‑hitting rhythm section and immediate melodies. The Dream Is Over (2016), Morbid Stuff (2019) and THE UNRAVELING OF PUPTHEBAND (2022) established the basis for songwriting marked by dark humour, where friendship, doubt and obsessions are told without detour. On stage, PUP play tight and no‑frills, alternating full‑on charges, taut breaks and choruses to sing along to, with Babcock’s raspy voice front and centre. Pathetic Use of Potential, their original acronym, reads like a wink here: they expend their potential at full throttle, track after track. See them on 30 June 2026 at Point Éphémère, Paris.
