Angine de Poitrine

Angine de Poitrine brings its instrumental focus to The Mod Club in Toronto on July 18, 2026. Formed in 2023 by Klek and Khn de Poitrine, the Québec duo moves between experimental rock, math rock and angular post-punk, with a construction method that borrows from techno’s repetitive logic. No vocals here: pieces unfold through layers of short motifs that appear, withdraw and reassemble, driven by a dry, precise drum sound and microtonal guitar and bass figures. Chromatic lines rub against asymmetrical structures, creating subtle tension while the groove keeps shifting.

Live, the music evolves by accumulation and subtraction rather than big drops, favoring momentum, variation and rhythmic displacement. After releasing Vol. 1 in 2024 and circulating quickly across Québec stages, including the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, the duo has shaped a set where rock energy meets a minimal, iterative approach. Expect patterns that tighten, tilt and move, a show built for ears that like detail and bodies that follow the pulse.
