Info
On September 27, 2027, Fontaines D.C. land in Toronto at Scotiabank Arena for a night built on tension, grit, and sharp writing. Coming out of Dublin’s student and poetry scene, the five-piece have turned post-punk into something both direct and literary, with Grian Chatten’s vocals driving songs that balance rhythmic pressure, abrasive guitars and sudden, more reflective turns. From the tight urgency of Dogrel to the slower, more melancholic angles of A Hero’s Death, and the darker, wider palette of Skinty Fia, their live set tends to move between punchy momentum and spacious, textured passages. With ROMANCE, recorded with producer James Ford, they’ve kept pushing toward more open songwriting and broader sonics without losing that nervous edge.
Iceage open the bill, bringing their Copenhagen-bred DIY intensity. Across records like New Brigade and You’re Nothing they honed a dry, frontal attack, then expanded their scope on Plowing Into the Field of Love and beyond, letting in gothic tones, art-punk angles, and a more song-forward clarity. Expect something physical and jagged, shifting between abrasion and melody, and setting the tone for a night where post-punk stretches out without softening up.
