Angine de Poitrine

With their mantra-rock tinged with Dadaist and Cubist accents, the Poitrine brothers invite you to lose yourself in a vortex of hypnotic sonic and visual motifs. Seemingly asymmetrical and slightly dissonant, their music soon tilts toward the physical: drums with a dry, precise groove, microtonal guitars and basses that interlace, and chromatic tensions that shift until bodies rise to move. Without vocals, everything is conveyed through the accumulation and subtraction of short figures, between experimental rock, math rock and angular post‑punk, with a repetitive mechanism that flirts with a techno spirit. After a European debut at Les Trans Musicales 2025, the Quebec duo followed with a French tour in February and continues their trajectory into 2026. On stage, Angine de Poitrine favors movement and variation, playing with rhythmic asymmetry without abandoning the pulse. A dense, mobile instrumental set devised to circulate energy as much as motifs, where meticulously precise writing preserves rock’s suppleness and rough edge.
