Gavin James

Irish singer-songwriter Gavin James is coming to Amsterdam: he will play at the Melkweg on 11 November 2026. Straddling acoustic pop and folk, he writes songs built around voice and guitar, with spare arrangements and melodies that linger. From Dublin he worked his way up through small clubs and bars, first with EPs and the live album Live at Whelans (2014), then with the studio albums Bitter Pill (2015), Only Ticket Home (2018) and The Sweetest Part (2022). Along the way he opened for Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith and toured Europe and North America. Occasionally an electronic touch creeps in, as on Tired with Alan Walker, but at the core are his melodic songwriting and the intimate tone of his lyrics.
