Miossec

Miossec arrives at the MeM in Rennes on June 12, 2026. A singer-songwriter from Brest, he has imposed his incisive lyricism and slightly veiled phrasing on French song since the 1990s. With Simplifier, his latest album, he continues a direct, stripped-down style of writing in which every word serves the essential. No showmanship, lyrics that get to the bone, carried by an uncompromising stage presence.

On stage, Miossec performs as a trio, supported by his long-time companions Stéphane Fromentin and Nicolas Méheust. Together they revisit the repertoire, rearrange older songs, let the new ones breathe, and play on contrasts between rough-edged ballads and more urgent, nervous surges. The songs speak of battered love, nights that run a little too long, and the roads of Finistère, with that blend of tenderness and roughness that clings to him. The set moves straight ahead, between low-voiced confidences and electric climaxes, like a chiaroscuro diary.
