Hugues Aufray

Info

On 28 March 2026 at Dani Lary’s Ateliers Magiques in Barbières, Hugues Aufray returns to the stage. A fixture of French folk for more than sixty years, he advances with his guitar slung over his shoulder, carrying a legacy of simple, melodic songs. This tour puts at the heart of the set pieces that travel from generation to generation: “Santiano,” “Céline,” “Adieu monsieur le professeur,” “Le petit âne gris,” “L’Épervier” and “Stewball.” Between ballads and sing‑along refrains, he also slips in nods to Bob Dylan—songs he often adapted—rendered in clear French. No frills: just the voice, the strings, the rhythm and a way of telling stories that belongs as much to the fireside as to the road. At 96, his energy remains calm and precise, and the raw material is unchanged: stories to be sung and shared during a concert that brings the classics into the present day.
