Info
Yölintu and Riku Niemi Orchestra join forces to bring the Isoissa valoissa production to Sibelius Hall in Lahti on 23 April 2027. The long-standing collaboration is evident in that the stage won’t simply deliver a mere 'feat'-moment, but the songs are rebuilt into a shared form: Yölintu’s schlager and dance numbers gain RNO’s broader, more striking arrangement universe, and the set moves smoothly from straightforward choruses to the orchestra’s rhythmic highs.
Since 1992, Yölintu has been known for its Finnish-language repertoire, where melodic pop, the tradition of the dance floor, and a hint of folk music run side by side. Fronted by Simo Silmu, the band’s strength has always been that the songs work both in concert halls and in a dance atmosphere.
RNO, on the other hand, is an orchestra founded in 2005 by conductor Riku Niemi, whose hallmark is entertaining, precisely played, and suited to large-scale venues. During the evening, listeners will hear the most famous numbers from both ensembles—and there will also be room for surprises.
