Madra Salach land at Vicar Street in Dublin on April 16, 2027 with that new-wave take on Irish folk they’ve been building the hard way: first in north Dublin pubs and small rooms, then on bigger festival stages. As a sextet, they move easily between traditional Irish music and a more current band feel, keeping the storytelling core of the ballad while letting rhythm, harmony and group energy do the heavy lifting.
Expect a set where trad shapes and instruments sit next to contemporary songwriting, with room for sing-along tunes and tighter, more driving moments. After making noise with singles like “Blue & Gold” and “I Was Just A Boy”, and the 2026 EP It’s a Hell of an Age, this show also points toward what’s next: their first album Gorta, announced for 2027. A home-city night that’s about keeping the tradition alive without turning it into a museum piece.
