Info
Joanne Shaw Taylor brings her blues-rock fire to Saint Luke's & The Winged Ox in Glasgow on May 11, 2027. First spotted at 16 by Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), she quickly moved from prodigy to road-tested guitarist, earning respect from names like Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox, and Joe Bonamassa. Onstage, it’s all about that sharp, melodic lead playing and a voice that leans soulful without losing the bite.
Across a run of albums from White Sugar to the chart-topping The Blues Album, she’s kept stretching the format: tight riffs, big choruses, and songs built to hit live. More recently, Heavy Soul pushed into contemporary soul-pop textures while staying rooted in the blues, and Black & Gold (released June 6, 2025) opened things up even further with Americana, indie rock, and a touch of retro ’80s pop. Expect a set that moves between raw guitar workouts and groove-driven songs, with a songwriter’s focus and no wasted moments.
