Info
Herb Alpert brings Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass to Bristol Beacon in Bristol on May 10, 2027, revisiting the bright, Latin-tinged instrumental pop that made his name. Built around his instantly recognizable trumpet lead, the Tijuana Brass sound mixes mariachi-flavored brass lines with orchestral pop polish and easy-listening grooves—music that’s as tight and melodic as it is rhythmic.
Expect a set that nods to the era-defining Tijuana Brass classics that took off in the early 60s and mid-60s, with the kind of arrangements that turn a simple hook into a full-color soundtrack. Alpert’s career has also stretched far beyond that signature format—touching vocal pop, light funk, and a more jazz-leaning approach over the decades—so the show can naturally drift between crisp nostalgia and a looser, more contemporary band feel. It’s a rare chance to hear a major American instrumental voice, still steering the room with phrasing, tone, and that clean melodic sense.
