TuneGirl live
Since she was a child, TuneGirl dreamed of making music. She began as a guitarist in school bands, playing hard rock and later her own songs, and discovered funk, soul and synth-pop in the 1980s. As a DJ in a small disco, she first encountered synthesizers and developed her love for electronic sounds.
In the 1990s, she came across techno artists such as Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, and Richie Hawtin. Inspired by minimalist drum-machine sounds and innovative rhythms, she built her first electronic setup. In 1999 she took a long break, before she began experimenting again with computers and software in 2009, but quickly realized that jamming with hardware is her true element.
Eventually she discovered Eurorack systems and modular synthesizers. After intensive onboarding and a lot of hard-earned lessons, she found her instrument in them. Today TuneGirl stands for improvised techno between Detroit, acid and minimal, performed live straight from the modular system, including at Knust Hamburg on November 7, 2026 from 10:30 PM.
