Info
On 20 December 2026, Thijs Boontjes will perform at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht with his Dance- and Show Orchestra, the band around his vocals and keyboards that since the mid-2010s has carved out its own place in Dutch-language pop. Expect a set where pop, rock and levenslied vibes intertwine, with tight, direct arrangements and choruses designed to be sung along to. Boontjes’ songs lean on the idea of a modern dance night: rhythm at the forefront, melody sharp, and plenty of room for the collective choir in the audience. His journey is audible in the show: from his years with King Jack to the keyboard work with Anouk and backing Douwe Bob, and then the development of his own series of releases, from his first EP (2015) to albums such as Geen Achttien Meer, Ambiance and Dancing Boontjes. Live, those tracks come together as one continuous, danceable narrative, unpretentious but with real momentum.
