Info
On January 28, 2027, Nubiyan Twist land at XOYO Birmingham with a refreshed line-up and a new live show built for movement. The Leeds-born collective, led by guitarist and composer Tom Excell, work like a tight nine-piece machine: bold brass lines, layered vocals, sharp jazz writing and that afrobeat pulse that keeps everything rolling forward.
Their sound sits right at the crossroads of UK jazz finesse, global grooves, soul hooks and hip-hop rhythm, with space for improvisation without ever losing the beat. If you know them from records like Jungle Run or Freedom Fables, this is the place to catch how those ideas translate live: percussive drive, big-band power, and a set that shifts between arranged punch and free-flowing heat, always anchored by deep, infectious rhythm.
