Info
JayaHadADream is a Jamaican-Irish rapper from Cambridge who has established herself as one of the voices of British rap thanks to her sharp lyricism and cross-genre blend.
After winning Glastonbury's Emerging Talent competition and being nominated for the MOBO Awards as Grime Artist of the Year, she has performed on stages such as Reading & Leeds, Boomtown, BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend, and SXSW London. In 2026 she will perform at Barcelona's Sala Apolo.
With the backing of artists such as Emeli Sande, Joy Crookes and Fred again.., and following the release of her mixtape Happiness From Agony, Jaya stands at the forefront of a new generation of artists who are redefining the sound of British rap.
Although grime may seem distant from jazz, both share the same essence: its most authentic form happens live. It arises from the interaction between the person on the mic, the music, and the audience, turning every moment into a unique experience.
Grime is not the content, it is the container. Beyond 140 BPM and any musical formula, it is a tool for direct expression, capable of channeling emotions, experiences and identities without filters.
Barna Grime is born to bring this spirit closer to Barcelona's new generations: an open space where the microphone becomes a megaphone for any voice, struggle, or form of dissent.
We understand grime as an open language, a creative tool, and a space of freedom.
