Info
Palace comes to the Gashouder in Amsterdam on March 7, 2027 with Ox, an album in which the London band deliberately reveals a new facet of themselves. Ten songs, recorded in Deptford with longtime producer Adam Jaffrey, sound warm and organic, but with those distinctive dreamy guitars still upfront. Ox blends influences from roots and Americana with the feeling of being on the road: stories that have arisen on tour, with plenty of room for atmosphere and subtle shifts in intensity.
Singles such as 'Kid' and 'Brown Bread' set the tone. 'Kid' is a very direct, intimate song about love and the longing for home when you are away for a long time. 'Brown Bread' broadens it even more: six minutes in which Palace takes all the time for dynamics, buildup and breathing room. With Ox the band takes another step as an independent act through its own Palace Presents, which began as a monthly evening in a London pub and has since grown into a label and community.
