This Is The Kit, the project of the British songwriter, singer and banjo player Kate Stables, comes to Knust in Hamburg on 2 May 2027. Stables, born in Winchester and for years moving between folk, indie and slightly offbeat rhythms, writes songs that stay close to everyday speech: direct, open, with no detours. Live, what was once more of a solo approach becomes a real band story—with Rozi Plain on bass, Jamie Whitby-Coles on drums, and Neil Smith on guitar. It is this very collective energy that carries the sound: acoustic strings, banjo and rougher guitars interlock, at once airy and angular, but always with the sense that someone here is telling stories you can endure together. Fans of This Is The Kit from albums such as Bashed Out, Off Off On or Careful of Your Keepers will have the chance here to hear the tracks breathe in a concert context—together, focused, alive.
