On May 8, 2027 at Manchester Academy in Manchester, DragonForce bring their high-speed take on power metal back to the stage. Built around Herman Li and Sam Totman’s twin-guitar attack, the band is all about breakneck tempos, bright melodies, and choruses made to be shouted. Expect the set to pull from the run that made their name, from the early Valley of the Damned and Sonic Firestorm era through the wider breakthrough sparked by Inhuman Rampage, with that video-game-leaning flash and fantasy-driven vibe never far away. With Marc Hudson on vocals, the later chapters of the band’s story have kept the formula sharp while pushing it into more recent material, up to Warp Speed Warriors.
Also on the bill, Visions of Atlantis add a symphonic counterpoint, mixing orchestral metal with power-metal hooks and a strong sense of story. Led by drummer Thomas Caser and fronted by Clémentine Delauney and Michele Guaitoli, their sound leans on dual vocals, big refrains and sea-soaked imagery. Their recent run, from The Deep & the Dark and Wanderers to the Pirates era, is made for live drama: cinematic arrangements, maritime atmospheres, and songs that move like a narrative rather than a playlist.
