Info
EMF come back to York for a live set at The Crescent on December 8, 2026, with the kind of punchy, sample-laced indie dance that made them stand out in the first place. Formed in 1989 in Cinderford, they hit fast and hard in the early 90s with “Unbelievable” and the album Schubert Dip, a sharp collision of nervous guitars, keyboards, and club-ready rhythms.
This show is a chance to catch the band in full momentum again, moving through the era-defining rush of Schubert Dip and the darker edge that followed on Stigma and Cha Cha Cha, without losing that pop instinct in the choruses. After years of stops, starts, and regrouping, EMF’s current lineup brings together James Atkin, Ian Dench, Derry Brownson, Stevey Marsh and drummer Robin Goodridge, still leaning into the same tight link between rock energy and electronic pulse that keeps their gigs feeling direct and alive.
