Tangerine Dream arrive at Trinity Centre in Bristol on February 6, 2027, bringing a live version of the Berlin-born sound that helped shape krautrock and, later on, whole strands of electronic music. Formed in 1967, the group built its identity on long-form instrumentals where ambient textures, sequenced pulses and slow-moving shifts do the talking, a method that became central to the so-called Berlin School.
If you first met Tangerine Dream through images rather than albums, you’re not alone: their catalogue of film, TV and video game scores is huge, with cult titles like Sorcerer, Thief, Risky Business, Legend and Near Dark, plus more recent nods in pop culture. On stage, that soundtrack instinct and their album-side patience meet in pieces that evolve in real time, leaving room for improvisation, repetition and sudden turns, the kind of music that doesn’t rush but keeps you locked in.
