Info
On 20 September 2026, David Essex brings his songbook to the Opera House Manchester for a night that sits right on the line between pop storytelling and stage-born energy. If you know him for “Rock On”, this is the chance to hear that glam-tinged pulse in context: tight rock’n’roll roots, bright British pop hooks, and a voice that likes to carry a narrative rather than just a chorus.
Essex’s career has always moved between the studio and the spotlight, and that sense of performance is baked into the songs. Expect a set that nods to the run of records that shaped his 70s peak, then stretches into the more melodic pop-rock turn that followed. It’s less about chasing trends than leaning into craft: tunes built to be sung, characters sketched in a few lines, and rhythms that still know how to push a room forward.
