On 9 October 2026, The Blockheads bring their sharp, road-tested mix of new wave, pub rock, funk and punk to Assembly Leamington in Royal Leamington Spa. Born in London in 1977 around Ian Dury, the band built its reputation on tight, nervous grooves and that unmistakably British melodic bite, with songs that still hit hard decades on. Sharing the bill, EXTC is led by XTC’s original drummer Terry Chambers, back on the road to celebrate the band’s post-punk and new-wave catalogue in full live colour. Formed in 2019, EXTC focuses on the punchy, clever songwriting that made XTC cult heroes and touring peers of bands like The Police and Talking Heads, with staples like Making Plans for Nigel and Senses Working Overtime firmly in the mix. A night built for people who like their pop smart and their riffs wired.
