On September 23, 2026, at Cambridge Junction in Cambridge, Blancmange brings its sharp, synthetic pop back to the stage. Born out of the UK new wave and synth-pop surge of the early ’80s, the project has always balanced dry keyboard lines, tight rhythms, and melodies that flirt with Eastern motifs without ever losing the punch of a proper pop hook.
Expect the set to move between that early, dancefloor-ready edge and the more pared-back, inward-looking direction that shaped the band’s later chapters. Since the late-2000s return, Neil Arthur has steered Blancmange into a leaner sound: electronic pop that’s sometimes stripped to the bone, sometimes drifting into instrumental passages, but always driven by songwriting craft and a cool sense of space.
