Info
On 18 August 2027 at Colchester Upper Castle Park, Simply Red bring their Manchester-bred soul-pop to an open-air set built around Mick Hucknall’s unmistakable voice and a catalogue that moves between blue-eyed soul, soft rock and sleek, adult pop. Expect the band’s melodic writing, those clean arrangements that made their late-80s and early-90s run so enduring, plus later material that keeps the groove polished without losing the warmth.
Also on the bill, Soul II Soul come as the London collective they’ve always been: a moving mix of soul, R&B, dance, hip-hop and reggae heritage shaped in the late-80s sound system scene. With Jazzie B at the center, their street-soul identity is made for big crowds, built on bass, swing and vocal hooks that still hit.
Heather Small completes the lineup with the deep, direct voice that helped define 90s British club-soul via M People, and a solo repertoire that leans into R&B, house and dance-pop energy. A set that’s all about presence, phrasing, and big choruses.
