Info
On January 10, 2027, Peter Sommer will take the stage at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen with “Alone with Palle in the World” — an evening that points toward the distinctive field he has made his own: Danish songs with rock in the backbone, pop in the blood, and a spoken-sung edge where the words stay close to the audience.
Since his breakthrough in the early 2000s, Sommer has built a universe of everyday scenes, skewed humor, and an undercurrent of melancholy that never becomes heavy but lingers. Drawing on solo albums such as On the Other Side, Destructive Vocals and To the Rats, to the Crows, to the Dogs—and the later development toward Strong Current across uneven ground—one can expect a concert where the lyrics lead, and the arrangements alternate between the spare and the more band-driven. It is an evening for those who come for the lines, the rhythm of the language, and the way a song can feel like a story you yourself are a part of.
