Agnes Obel returns to Copenhagen and will perform at the Opera House on October 3, 2027 with new material from The Meaning of Flowers, which will be released on September 18, 2026. After a lengthy hiatus from the stage, she brings her quiet, precise universe onto one of the city’s grand stages: the piano and the voice at the center, surrounded by layers of strings, discreet electronic textures, and the small harmonies that make her songs feel both intimate and cinematic.
The concert also threads back through her catalogue: from the stripped-down, chamber-pop-oriented expression on Philharmonics and Aventine to the more conceptual, circular arrangements on Citizen of Glass and Myopia. Live, the songs unfold as a kind of modern chamber music, where repetitions, pauses and dynamics are allowed to dictate the tempo. In the Opera House, one can expect an evening that gives room for both the new songs and the familiar melodies, without it turning into something grandiose.
