Oval & Musik Mattin present Ana Roxanne at Sala Clamores in Madrid.
Ana Roxanne's music inhabits a space where ambient, minimalism, slowed-down jazz, and vocal folk dissolve into an intimate universe.
Having trained between California and Uttarakhand, India, where she traveled to learn traditional Hindustani vocal techniques, she developed a distinctive sonic language at Mills College. Her debut ~~~ (2015), reissued by Leaving Records in 2019, paved the way for Because of a Flower (2020) on Kranky.
Now she presents Poem 1, her second album and a more stripped-down statement: slowed-down jazz, minimalism, and vocal folk shaped by catharsis, finding hope in slowness and the smoky sadness of her piano pieces. A live performance that translates this delicate catharsis to the stage.
