Info
On 6 November 2026, Alewya brings her body-led, instinct-first universe to Village Underground in London. Ethiopian–Egyptian, born in Saudi Arabia and raised in West London, she moves between alternative R&B, electronics, grime-adjacent pressure and diasporic rhythms, with a way of singing and spoken word that feels as tactile as it is direct. She often describes herself as a painter who makes music, and you can hear it: sound treated like texture, rhythm like movement, emotion as the main compass.
Her debut project Panther in Mode (2021) set the tone with sharp percussion and a strong visual identity, and tracks like “Ethiopia” or “The Code” (with Moses Boyd) helped sketch her lane inside London’s shifting scene. With ZERO, she leans into space, roots, deconstruction and instinct, self-producing much of the record and letting imperfection, silence and intensity sit in the same frame. Live, that translates into a show built on pulse and presence, where heritage isn’t explained — it’s carried.
