If autumn is missing a bit of noise and sharp edges, Bass Drum of Death is ready to deliver what they do best: short, tight, guitar-driven garage rock with a clear punk nerve. The project started in Oxford, Mississippi around John Barrett, initially as something recorded more or less on their own, and has since evolved into a live setup with a rotating lineup, but the same direct expression.
The music sits somewhere between garage punk and noise rock: abrasive riffs, dry drums, and songs that don’t waste time. With releases like GB City and later Rip This, they became a fixture for anyone into lo-fi energy and American indie-rock with dirty fingers. After a hiatus, Barrett returned with Just Business, and in recent years Bass Drum of Death have stuck to the raw, straightforward sound.
On October 8, 2026, Bass Drum of Death will play Beta2300 in Copenhagen.
