Julia Jacklin

Julia Jacklin brings her singular songwriting to Eventim Apollo in London on 19 February 2027. Raised in Australia’s Blue Mountains and first heard in bands before striking out solo, she has built a body of work that moves between indie folk, lean indie rock and a hint of alt-country. On stage, her songs hinge on voice and guitar with measured arrangements, letting the lyrics sit upfront. The set navigates the tender clarity of Don’t Let the Kids Win, the more direct, tightly wound narratives of Crushing, and the considered writing of Pre Pleasure, tracing relationships, doubt and everyday details without ornament.

Live, Jacklin favours dynamics over display. She lets verses breathe, draws out silences, then leans into a sharper, guitar-led momentum. Melodies stay clear and uncluttered, the rhythm section supports without crowding, and the focus remains on phrasing and the turn of a line. It’s an intimate register, but never static, shifting naturally from hushed confession to open choruses that carry without force. Guests will join the bill for the evening.
