Patrick Watson brings a stripped-back performance and signing to Rough Trade Bristol on 7 August 2026. The Montreal-based singer, composer and pianist has spent two decades shaping a delicate mix of chamber pop and indie folk, building songs around close-miked vocals, piano motifs and understated strings or electronics. In this pared-down setup, he keeps only what’s needed, letting melodies breathe and lyrics take the foreground.

He’ll draw from across his catalogue — from Close to Paradise (Polaris Prize) and Wooden Arms to recent work like Better in the Shade — revisiting pieces with new colours, shifting tempo or harmony to reveal different shades. Expect quiet swells, skeletal rhythms and stretches where voice and piano hold the room.
