Struma, Iodine w/ Ana Roxanne, Seventeen Eleven

On June 2, 2026 at Porgy & Bess in Vienna, Ana Roxanne presents Poem 1, her new album on Kranky. Born in the Bay Area and now based in New York, the composer and vocalist works at a slow burn: ambient drift, restrained jazz inflections, minimal piano motifs, and a voice kept close and clear. Where Because of a Flower wrapped her singing in haze, Poem 1 peels it back. Breath, grain and phrasing sit upfront, traced by spare chords and unhurried bass figures.

The set leans into pieces like The Age of Innocence, Berceuse in A-flat minor and Keepsake, where memory becomes material and silence shapes the melody. Untitled II nudges the music into a nocturnal, cinematic space, with brushed rhythm and sombre piano leaving room for her lines to linger. Roxanne’s path through choral music, jazz study and Hindustani vocal practice doesn’t arrive as citation so much as a way of hearing timbre, pacing and resonance.
