Amble

Amble is an Irish trio that performs contemporary folk with an acoustic core of voices and guitars. Since the early 2020s the project first grew online with a string of tracks on streaming platforms; it later found its shape on stage in small venues and independent spaces across Ireland. On 26 February 2027 Amble will play at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen.

Their songs centre on close harmony, spare arrangements and mostly moderate tempos, giving the lyrics room to breathe. The themes are close to everyday life: relationships, vulnerability, what you carry from day to day—expressed in direct, unadorned language. Musically, Amble keeps structures simple and melodies supported by vocal harmony, with a warm sound that touches the folk tradition while fitting a more recent generation of acoustic makers. Live, this works in a light, pared-back setting: little ornamentation, a focus on voice, guitar and their blend. Intimate enough for attentive listening, open enough to breathe in the venue.
