Kid Kapichi

Kid Kapichi play Melkweg, Amsterdam on 25 November 2026. The quartet from Hastings serves up a sharp mix of punk, alternative and post-punk, with massive guitars, tight hooks and a half-spoken, half-sung delivery. The songs dive into everyday life: local politics, precarity, frustrations and mental health. From their first EPs and the single “Sugar Tax” (2019) the band built a repertoire that is at once singable and provocative. The debut This Time Next Year (2021) set the tone; Here’s What You Could Have Won (2022) continued the trajectory, including a collaboration with Bob Vylan. In 2024 came There Goes The Neighbourhood, an album full of snapshots from the British street.

On stage it’s all about energy and friction: riffs pile up, rhythms keep driving and the lyrics deliver short, cutting observations of reality. The set leans on recent material without abandoning the early favourites, and keeps the pace from start to finish. Kid Kapichi come to Amsterdam with exactly that direct, melodic edge the band is known for live.
