Martin Stephenson & The Daintees hail from the North East of England. Their debut single 'Roll On Summertime' was released in 1982 on Kitchenware Records (home of Prefab Sprout, The Kane Gang, Hurrah!). 'Boat to Bolivia' was the debut album by Martin Stephenson & The Daintees. After appearances on Channel 4's The Tube and BBC2's Whistle Test, the album gained wider recognition in 1986.
In 1988, the second Martin Stephenson & The Daintees album, 'Gladsome, Humour & Blue', was released, featuring the singles 'There Comes a Time' and 'Wholly Humble Heart'. Martin Stephenson & The Daintees will perform music from 'Gladsome, Humour & Blue' along with other songs. Sunday 7 March 2027 at 7:00 pm at The Lemon Tree, Aberdeen.
