Formed in Helsinki in 1994, The Rasmus began with a nervy blend of funk, punk and alternative pop on Peep, Playboys and Hellofatester, then shifted toward a more melodic, darker rock on Into. Dead Letters in 2003 carried the band beyond Finland with the single In the Shadows. Since then, their sound has moved between alternative and pop rock with gothic shades, later adding electronic elements across Hide from the Sun, Black Roses, The Rasmus, Dark Matters and Rise (2022). After Pauli Rantasalmi’s departure in 2022, guitarist Emilia Suhonen joined alongside Lauri Ylönen, Eero Heinonen and Aki Hakala; the same year they entered Eurovision with Jezebel. On 4 March 2027 at Electric Bristol in Bristol, The Rasmus present a set spanning their early years, the international breakthrough and newer material from Rise, covering three decades of songwriting.
