Info
On 23 October 2026 at O2 Institute Birmingham, Gurriers bring a taut, street-level take on post-punk built for the stage. Formed in Dublin in the early 2020s, the five-piece fuse art-punk angles with noise-rock grit: abrasive guitars, a locked-in rhythm section, and vocals that switch between frontal urgency and a cooler detachment. Their songs track urban tension and social fractures, writing that points to contemporary anxiety, normalized violence and political contradictions. Come and See, their 2024 debut album, widens the frame without softening the impact, and on stage the band keep it lean and direct, playing with pressure, release and sudden pivots.
Rotterdam’s Tramhaus join the bill with a similarly tight but distinct drive. Also formed in 2020, the quintet work two angular guitars over a dry, spring-loaded pulse and a voice that stays close to the front of the mix. The tracks stay concise, sometimes tipping toward noise without losing focus, a balance captured on their 2024 first LP, The First Exit, after a run of singles. Live, the energy is physical and precise: fast cuts, knotted grooves, clean breaks. Two perspectives on the current European post-punk wave, converging in Birmingham.
