Dumbo Gets Mad

Dumbo Gets Mad bring their psychedelic pop to The Waiting Room in London on Saturday 7 November 2026. Founded in 2011 by Italian musician, producer and sound designer Luca Bergomi, the project blends lo-fi pop, retro grooves and psych textures, shaping bright melodies, treated vocals and 70s-inspired arrangements through a contemporary production approach.

The debut Elephants at the Door took form between Reggio Emilia and Los Angeles in 2011, setting a laid-back yet curious tone. Quantum Leap followed in 2013, opening up the structures and leaning into an improvisational streak. In 2015, Thank You Neil shifted toward a more soulful and cosmic palette, borrowing inspiration from the talks of astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and favoring recordings close to a live feel. After the single Makes You Fly in 2019, the 2021 album Things Are Random And Time Is Speeding Up tightened the songwriting without dropping the psych haze.

On stage, Dumbo Gets Mad slides between hazy pop and groove-led passages, built on warm synths, rhythmic basslines and woozy harmonies. Bergomi has also expanded his range with production work on Marracash’s album Noi Loro Gli Altri, a side step that feeds into the project’s sense of timing and texture.
